His Excellency Dudley Thompson, President

Born in Panama, Baba Dudley is a Highly Esteemed Elder, Participant of the 5th Pan African Congress with those like Kwame Nkrumah, Amy Garvey, and WEB Dubois. He was an Attorney for President Jomo Kenyatta during the Mau Mau revolution, a former Minister and Ambassador to a numerous African nations from Jamaica. He was also advisor to Nigerian President-elect MKO Abiola on Reparations and one of the foremost and most highly respected Pan Africanists today.

HUJAMBO, I would like to use this opportunity to thank the participants and supporters of the PAM Summit 2007 for having elected me with this position of great responsibility. I sincerely request all my fellow Pan Africanists and friends to immediately join and support WADU. We intend to move with deliberate speed from talking to doing because the clock of history has been ticking for too long without meaningful African power in the world. SOME MEMBERS OF WADU LEADERSHIP

Nana Leonard Kweku Jeffries, Vice President
Vice President Dr. Jeffries is one of the foremost intellectual in the Diaspora. He played a critical role in promoting African education and support for the African liberation struggles in Africa. He has served with Dr. John Henrik Clarke and Dr. Ben Jochannan in the agitation for African education in communities across the Diaspora. Dr. Jeffries is responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of WADU across the Diaspora.

Baba James Small, Chief of Congress
The Chief of the Congress, Baba Small is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU) and has worked with Malcolm X and Dr. John Henrik Clarke on promoting African issues. Baba Small is responsible for establishing a Congress of Leaders representing communities of the Diaspora to implement the goals and objectives of Pan Africanism.

Nana Dr. Shelby Lewis, Chief of Commissioners
Chief Commissioner Nana Lewis is a veteran Institution Builder and Policy Advisor on African people in the world. She established the one of the first African Studies program in the U.S. and was former Associate Provost of Clark Atlanta University. Dr. Lewis is responsible for organize a Commission of Pan African intellectuals to advance African-centric development models for Black empowerment.

Baba Mukasa Dada (Willie Ricks), Chief of Council of Elders
Chief Elder Baba Mukasa played a significant role in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, Black Power Movement and the promotion of Pan Africanism. Baba Mukasa coined the term “Black Power’ and worked alongside Dr. M.L. King and Kwame Ture in advancing African issues. Baba Mukasa is responsible to establish a WADU Council of Elders representation in the Diaspora.

Baba Dr. Ndugu T’Ofori-Atta, Chief of the Secretariat
Chief of Secretariat T’Afori-Atta has served African people as an Institution Builder and Pan African Priest. He has been instrumental in promoting the African liberation struggles and models for the unification among African priest, ministers and leaders while living in Africa and the Diaspora. Baba Ndugu is primarily responsible for the administrative and program facilitation of WADU across the Diaspora region.

Nana Dr. Niara Sudarkasa, Chief of Council of Advisors
Chief Advisor Niara is an Institution Builder and Africa Policy Advisor. She is a distinguish scholar and former President of Lincoln University. Dr. Niara is responsible for advising WADU Executive on the general direction of WADU and providing support and assistance to WADU in accomplishing its goals and objectives for the Diaspora and overall Pan Africansm.

Baba Elombe Brath, Chief of Council of Elder (Emeritus)
Chief Elder Elombe (Emeritus) is an "Icon of the Pan African Movement." Elombe played a significant role in the liberation of Africa, especially mobilizing support for the frontline states of southern Africa in the defeat of colonialism and imperialism in Africa. Baba Elombe and his wife recently fell ill and Elombe is now a member of the WADU Council of Advisors.
